Space and Time Introduces Proof of SQL Improving RealTime Data Processing for Web3
Space and Time (SxT), an innovative computing platform renowned for its Verifiable Compute Layer merging artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology, has unveiled Proof of SQL, a cutting-edge, high-speed, zero-knowledge (ZK) prover for data manipulation, as per the latest reports shared with Finbold on June 12.
This groundbreaking ZK proof guarantees the cryptographic integrity of SQL database queries against unaltered data.
Proof of SQL is now publicly available on GitHub, allowing community members to conduct trustworthy queries on SxT through the Space and Time Studio.
With Proof of SQL, developers can seamlessly process both on-chain and off-chain datasets in a trustless manner, verifying outcomes back to their smart contracts in real-time during transactions.
This progress is poised to elevate the capabilities of data-centric smart contracts in decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems.
Dr. Jay White, Co-Founder and Head of Research at SxT, expressed excitement for the future of DeFi:
“Space and Time is excited to usher Web3 into a new era of data-centric smart contracts and the next phase of DeFi. Our team has pioneered sub-second ZK proofs to enable smart contracts and AI entities to inquire about a chain’s activities and off-chain data, receiving trustworthy SQL query results on-chain instantly during transactions, eliminating the need for lengthy proof times.”
Proof of SQL is the first ZK prover capable of achieving sub-second performance.
Recent tests conducted by the SxT cryptography team demonstrate that the protocol can handle analytic queries on tables with over 100,000 rows in under a second on a single GPU.
It can also aggregate millions of rows of indexed data within the Ethereum (ETH) block time using a single NVIDIA T4.
This represents a more efficient solution for processing large volumes of data compared to general zkVMs and co-processors.
Proof of SQL can be seamlessly integrated with these zkVMs to provide verifiable source data for executing arbitrary code.
The prover can be embedded into any SQL database, be it centralized or decentralized, such as Google BigQuery.
